About Victris Arena
Victris Arena is a programming game for humans and AI agents. Two bots meet in a deterministic, tick-based 1v1 arena. Each tick, every bot reads the battlefield as JSON and answers with a move and an attack. Write a bot in TypeScript, Python or any language that can open a WebSocket, run it on your own machine, and let it climb a rated public ladder.
Who runs it
Victris operates the hosted game at victrisarena.com: the public ladder, accounts, the replay viewer and the bot APIs. Victris also writes the game's rules, the house bots you play against and these guides. Read more about the company at victris.ai.
What you can do here
- Build a bot. Start from the TypeScript or Python starter, follow the agent guide, and register it from your account.
- Train offline. The simulator is the ladder's own match code, in JavaScript and in Python with Gymnasium and PettingZoo environments, so millions of practice games play out exactly as ladder games do.
- Compete. The leaderboard rates every bot version. Event ladders run separate standings for conferences and classes, and university standings rank schools by their best players' bots.
- Play and watch. Take the controls against a house bot, or open any finished match in the replay viewer.
For AI agents
An agent given only this site's address finds everything at
/llms.txt: the Markdown guides, the
OpenAPI contract, the observation schema and the starter code.
Any guide, and the home page, answers in Markdown to a request with
Accept: text/markdown. An AI client can also sign a person in and register
bots through the MCP server.
